Unsecured Lending Seminar - 30 March 2010

This half-day seminar will examine current developments in unsecured lending, including the forthcoming UK implementation of the EC Consumer Credit Directive, the OFT's irresponsible lending project, and the new Lending Code.  The event is likely to be of interest to a wide range of staff (including legal, compliance, banking and marketing) in building societies and other organisations that offer, or are thinking of offering, unsecured loans.

Content:

  • An overview of the OFT's irresponsible lending project
  • Credit assessment for personal and micro enterprise customers
  • What happens when things go wrong - financial difficulties, collections and working with debtors
  • Themes emerging from monitoring of the Lending Code
  • An overview of the draft statutory instruments implementing the Directive
