The BSA has responded to the Department for Communities and Local Government's (DCLG) Call for Evidence on Improving the Home Buying and Selling Process. Our main comments are as follows:

• A Decision in Principle is already a key part of the home buying process
• We welcome any move to improve the information available to buyers prior to them making an offer
• Binding offers, while attractive, would only be possible if combined with greater levels of information available to the buyer prior to making an offer.
• New build homes should come with their own log book or user guide
