  • We welcome the report and acknowledge the deficiencies identified in the Credit Information Market Study, in particular where it has a negative impact on outcomes for consumers
  • We are supportive of the suggestion of industry led change under a reformed governance body and creation of a single portal for credit information
  • We remain concerned about the major costs attached to the new reporting governance body and single portal and lack of any clear funding model for either proposal.
  • We are similarly concerned about the time scales outlined for implementation, in particular the 3-year period for reform. Given the extensive work required to agree changes within the industry and the development/testing required we have argued that firms need to be a given a minimum of 2-years implementation once final changes are agreed.
