Treasury Select Committee call for further evidence - unclaimed assets within the financial system

The Treasury Select Committee has decided to provide a further opportunity for the submission of written evidence as part of its inquiry into unclaimed assets within the financial system announced on 17 January 2007. The Committee is particularly interested in receiving additional written evidence arising from-

  • HM Treasury's document published on 20 March 2007 entitled A UK Unclaimed Assets Scheme: a consultation
  • The publication issued by the Commission on Unclaimed Assets on 14 March 2007 entitled The Social Investment Bank- its organisation and role in driving development of the third sector; and
  • The document expected to be issued by the Commission on Unclaimed Assets shortly on consumer protection and regulation.

Written evidence should reach the Committee by Friday 13 April 2007 at 12 noon.  The full Committee press release can be viewed here.
