PAUL BROADHEAD JOINS THE BUILDING SOCIETIES ASSOCIATION AS HEAD OF MORTGAGE POLICY
The Building Societies Association (BSA) is pleased to announce that it has recruited Paul Broadhead, Deputy Director-General of the Association of Home Information Pack Providers, to the position of Head of Mortgage Policy. Paul will head up the Association’s new mortgage policy team and joins the BSA in November 2008. Paul started his career with the Halifax Building Society carrying out a number of roles in the branch network across all product areas, as well as being a qualified mortgage adviser. Following relocation to the main Head Office site in 2000 he rapidly moved to the role of Senior Project Manager - Mortgages, being closely involved with the development of the new point of sale mortgage system, and the Intermediary Business to Business mortgage application system. He also played a key role in the implementation of the FSA mortgage regulation within Halifax plc in 2004. Paul was then seconded to the Office of the Deputy Prime Minister as Business Change Manager on the Home Information Pack programme where he had responsibility for stakeholder engagement as well as being Chairman of the Central Stakeholder Group, the senior consultation board for industry leaders. He was also the sole industry representative on the HIP Programme Board. Paul was appointed Deputy Director General of the Association of Home Information Pack Providers in March 2006. Commenting on the appointment, Adrian Coles, Director-General of the Building Societies Association said:- "We were delighted by the strength of the candidates for this position, and even more delighted to be appointing someone with such relevant skills and experience as Paul. Paul has worked in a mortgage lender, within the civil service and for a trade association, and we very much look forward to welcoming him to the BSA when he joins us in November." Paul Broadhead said:- “I am delighted to accept the position of Head of Mortgage Policy at the BSA. In these extremely challenging market conditions building societies have a distinct message to convey. I look forward to raising the profile and promoting the distinctiveness of the sector across government and the media and fully representing societies’ interests in mortgages.”
