Building Societies Legislation

Building societies are regulated by the FSA subject to legislation set out in the Building Societies Act 1986.

Mortgage Policy

The overriding aim of BSA policy on mortgages is to promote an environment in which building societies’ mortgage business can prosper. The BSA also aims to facilitate the conditions in which building societies can increase their share of the mortgage market.
