Policy
Mortgage Policy
- more prudent and responsible lending - ensuring that the customer is more likely to get a mortgage product that suits their individual needs and is based on affordability;
- stronger customer focus - working with customers beyond the sale of the mortgage to ensure that customers continue to enjoy the benefits of their mortgage; and
- low levels of arrears - building societies work closely with their customers to ensure those in (or at risk of being in) arrears are helped by offering generous forbearance - resulting in very few repossessions.
