The Proposed EU Directive on Credit Agreements Relating to Residential Property – A Bad Deal for Consumers?

There is the potential for the proposed EU Directive on Credit Agreements Relating to Residential Property to stifle the private rental sector, limit the availability and accessibility of advice, reduce the amount of information provided to consumers as part of the pre-contractual disclosure, and increase some costs for lenders.  In its current form, can it benefit consumers?

Self Build

In theory, building your own home is a fantastic idea. You can build your ‘forever home’, in the location you choose, using your own specifications and at a reasonable price to boot. What’s not to love? But the upshot is that it takes a very committed person to get through the scoping and planning phase and actually build their own home….
