Mortgage Fraud – Working together puts pressure on would-be fraudsters

The Mortgage Verification Scheme, launched back in September, is an important additional tool for lenders to combat mortgage fraud and is an innovative example of the public and private sectors working together to combat fraud.

BSA at the Party Conferences

The BSA held two fringe events at each of the party conferences on the themes of how Government, lenders and other bodies can better help consumers struggling with debt and the benefits of diverse ownership structures in the banking system.

Delivering Mortgage Policy – a look at what we can expect from this week’s Annual BSA Mortgage Conference

Housing Minister, the Rt Hon Grant Shapps MP, will address the BSA’s Mortgage Conference this week.  The BSA played an active role in the Minister’s housing summits and subsequent working groups, and we are now looking forward to hearing his feedback, along with an update of the various housing and planning initiatives that are shaping Government policy.

Comment piece on Mortgage Market Review

A colleague of mine recently noted that they liken the Mortgage Market Review to Harry Potter.  Not that they were comparing the regulator to Lord Voldemort but rather that they are eagerly awaiting the final instalment, and so as soon as it’s out they will flick to the last page to see how it all ends (Harry kills Voldermort all is well again).
