BSA responds on Government’s ICB thinking

The Government has set out its thinking on the Independent Commission on Banking proposals.  It acknowledges there may be areas where the proposals overlap with existing legislation for building societies and therefore the Building Societies Act might require updating.

DWP consult on Support for Mortgage Interest changes

The Department for Work and Pensions are looking at changes to the Support for Mortgage Interest scheme.  As a fundamentally good scheme, SMI could be improved by making a few relatively minor changes.

BSA Events

Conduct of Business and Compliance Seminar
27 March 2012, London

Conduct of business is now the major regulatory focus as the FCA develops through the 'shadow' team at the FSA. Norton Rose LLP and the BSA bring the crucial topics of compliance and conduct of business together, in a joint half-day seminar. 

The event will cover -

• Product intervention and outcome-based regulation - the FCA's conduct of business model
