Services - Dispute resolution

The best possible solution

Wragge & Co's entire dispute resolution capability is one of the largest of its kind in the UK.

The core dispute resolution team of 185 lawyers includes experts in contract and commercial, construction, mediation and arbitration, regulatory litigation, IT, professional negligence, insurance and volume debt recovery. Elsewhere in the firm are teams specialising in dispute resolution for employment, pensions, intellectual property (IP) and real estate.

Wragge & Co's innovative approach to resolving disputes begins before its experts have even been instructed. RADAR - Risk: Analyse, Decide and Respond - is a fast online tool which enables clients to brief the firm's dispute resolution experts on a potential dispute so they an provide an initial assessessment of the options at no cost.

Headlined by Chambers UK as a 'big player' which 'because of its size …. can undertake large-scale matters'. It offers 'successful resolutions at a fraction of London prices and adopts a partner-led approach that distinguishes it from much of its City competition'. Clients 'appreciate the team's hard work and praise an in-depth understanding of business that leads to the best possible solution.' Wragge & Co is 2nd and 11th respectively in the Chambers FTSE Survey list of disputes advisers to the FTSE 250 and 100.

Clients include BP, British Airways, Cadbury plc, Chase Midland, the former Department of Trade and Industry (now the Department for Business, Enterprise and Regulatory Reform), E.ON and the Hilton Group.

As well as RADAR, Wragge & Co also offers RiskAssess, a thorough and detailed report that can be used, by claimants and defendants alike, on all dispute resolution matters. It can be used in conjunction with, or independent of, RADAR. It provides an in-depth analysis of the strengths and weaknesses of a case, chances of success and likely cost. Each RiskAssess includes a full written report on the problem, the likely costs and the right strategy. Reports are prepared only when there is a clear understanding of what the litigation aims to achieve. The team will rigorously pursue and defend claims if necessary but will always maintain a realistic approach to settlement negotiations.

The team can also advise on pre- and post-event legal expenses insurance.
