The Deputy Chief Executive (DCE) is a critical new role, which is being created as Leek United twins progressing its significant ongoing investment in technology and the branch network with a strong desire to optimise the efficiency, stability and compliance of its operations and the quality of its customer service. As a member of the Board, the DCE will deputise for the Chief Executive and will have responsibility for managing the branch network, IT and Change, as well as the Customer Operations area that includes Savings, Mortgage and Administration Support.

The Board wish to recruit a forward looking, commercial and values-led business leader who will help develop the Society’s long-term strategic and operational leadership. They should bring relevant financial services experience across the role’s areas of responsibility which will ideally have been gained within the building society sector. An ability to identify, develop and deliver change programmes and a good knowledge of technology are important attributes for this role. The successful candidate must believe passionately in delivering outstanding customer experience while making a positive difference to the lives of members, staff and the local community. Cultural fit and alignment with Leek United’s mutual values is therefore a vital pre-requisite for this key role. Candidates should also have ambitions to progress into a Chief Executive role in the future.
