Salary:                    £60,000 per annum, mid-market reference (80-120% range based on skills & experience  plus full employee benefits

Overview: 

Would you like to work in a supportive employee focused Society with a clear vision and customer focused strategy?  Working with the Finance Director you will be responsible for formulating the Society’s balance sheet, P&L, capital and funding plans (under base and stress scenarios) including ICAAP and Recovery Plan development.

You will need a strong understanding of the business and markets we operate in, as well as a good understanding of the Regulatory Rules regarding Building Societies.  Your knowledge will be used to provide support for our mortgage and savings books; working closely with senior stakeholders to influence and lead the Society’s performance and strategic direction.

You will also act as a deputy for the Finance Director, with the potential to progress to that role.  As part of the wider finance team, you will assist in the development of the team and their continuing improvement programme and help as required on risk management, management accounting or Statutory Accounts.

Desirable skills and experience:

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Proven experience in the Financial Services industry
  • A solid understanding of financial and regulatory factors affecting capital and balance sheet frameworks, including Capital or Treasury knowledge
  • A good understanding of the mortgage market
  • High numeracy levels, intellectually strong and capable of digesting and interpreting information.
  • Strong Analytical skills with excellent Excel experience and be confident analysing data sets.
  • Confidence and be an articulate communicator.
  • Ability to use own initiative and be a self-starter, able to deal with ambiguity, develop recommendations and drive solutions proactively to look after complex processes with multiple stakeholders.
  • Ability to manage your own workload to ensure activities are correctly prioritised and that all interested parties are aware of responsibilities, deadlines and progress.


    Qualifications:

Educated to degree level or equivalent

ACA/CIMA/ACCA qualified

Package:

£60,000 per annum (mid-market 80-120% range based on skills and experience)
