'Money Minds' financial education programme launched

Yorkshire Building Society has launched an innovative new financial education programme to be delivered by colleagues in schools across the UK.

Money Minds is a free programme consisting of a series of activities and projects designed to promote discussion and learning among children and young people aged five to 19 of all abilities.

The BSA has a long tradition of welcoming overseas visitors as they pass through London, taking the opportunities to share experiences and learn from each other.  The commercial issues we face are often identical.

From cybercrime to branches, from meeting the needs of older members to recruiting the next generation from the millennial population.  Our legal and regulatory frameworks may differ in detail, but the major prudential and conduct theme, too, are common.

The 'Basel 4' reviews – storm in teacup or end of the world?

Every now and again you will read some press comment about bad things expected to result from the current set of “Basel reviews”. A good example – a real corker – was this from early 2015: “Secretive bank watchdog could slam door on first-time buyers” and referenced a “secretive Swiss committee” as the fount of all evil. So what is this all about – what is Basel and what is being reviewed? and is it a storm in a teacup (or, being Swiss, in a fondue pot – remember those?)
