This is the latest instalment in a series of webinars produced by PwC to discuss various issues facing the building society sector.

Tax is an ever more complex and broad subject and one which continues to evolve. It is also an area that customers, members and employees are increasingly interested in from a reputational perspective. This is an opportunity to hear directly from HMRC about their team working with building societies, the issues that they see giving greatest concern and areas that they are focusing on.

The webinar will be hosted by PwC's building society sector tax leader, Susie Holmes, with a presentation by Matt Gibbs who leads HMRC's "mid sized business team" working with building societies.We have already identified a number of areas to cover including:

  • An introduction to Matt and his team and how that team works with building societies.
  • Governance over tax and the Banking Code of Practice; what do HMRC expect from a building society and how is this evolving?
  • Making tax digital; what's happening now and what's next?

Timing:
The webinar starts at 2:00pm.
There will be a presentation of around 30 minutes, followed by Q&A.
