The changing profile of first-time buyers

The age of first-time buyers has shifted up the scale over the past twenty years, according to the most recent English Housing Survey. While the average age only crept up two years, to 32, a larger change has occurred in the share of different age groups. The proportion of first-time buyers between ages 16-24 has plummeted from 21.3% to 7.5%, while 35-44 year olds now make up 20.9% of the first-time buyer population, up from 16%.

Nottingham Building Society to open seven branches

The Nottingham Building Society has announced that in November and December this year, it will open seven new branches in market towns across the Midlands, Cambridgeshire and Norfolk.   It also hopes to continue to open more branches in market towns, which it says often have very few or none of these.

The Cambridge money app will allow customers to view up to date account information wherever they are with options to update personal details and transfer money. Users will also be able send secure messages to The Cambridge team and view documents associated with their account.
