The Cambridge launches its first mobile app

The Cambridge Building Society has introduced its first mobile app giving customers the flexibility of being able to check their accounts on the move.

The Cambridge money app will allow customers to view up to date account information wherever they are with options to update personal details and transfer money. Users will also be able send secure messages to The Cambridge team and view documents associated with their account.

The free app, which has a biometric or passcode authentication, has been developed by retail finance technology experts DPR.

The Cambridge’s Head of IT Trevor Tannenbaum said: “With customers able to do simple account administration through the app our frontline staff will have more time to help customers who need advice with their mortgages or savings. This is a great way for technology to support personal service rather than being a replacement for face to face interaction.”

The app also includes general information such as a branch locator and branch information, as well as contact details and opening times. Additional functionality will be introduced as the app evolves.

The Cambridge money app is currently available to download in the App Store for customers who have registered for online access or have an e-account. An android version is due for release in the autumn.
