Household savings in the third quarter of the year (July– September 2016):
Savings balances at building societies increased by £4.5 billion, a 21% share of the £22.1 billion across the market. Savings balances outstanding at building societies now stand at £260.2 billion, an 18% market share of the total £1,411.3 billion across the market.
