Whistleblowing – revising policy & practice after latest regulators’ requirements

13 April 2021 at 2.00pm

On 24 March 2021, the FCA announced a new campaign “In confidence with confidence” to encourage employees in the firms that it regulates to blow the whistle on potential wrongdoing by sharing their concerns directly with the FCA. The campaign includes materials for firms to share with employees, as well as using its events to highlight the campaign and a digital toolkit for industry bodies, consumer groups and whistleblowing groups to encourage individuals to have confidence to step forward.

The FCA also wants to remind firms that its whistleblowing rules require firms to have effective arrangements in place for employees to raise concerns and to guarantee these concerns are handled appropriately and confidentially – including appointing a senior management whistleblowers’ champion with responsibility for the integrity, independence and effectiveness of the firm’s arrangements.

This webinar - supported by experts from Eversheds Sutherland - is an opportunity for BSA members to review their own policies, systems and controls against the regulators' re-stated requirements on whistleblowing to make sure they are aligned to the FCA’s requirements.
