Regulatory visits have become more intrusive than ever and can lead to capital and liquidity add-ons, follow-up work and/or other regulatory interventions, including s166 notices or even enforcement action.

Meticulous preparation is key to a successful outcome from the visit. Firms that prepare thoroughly tend to experience little difficulty, whereas those that do not prepare effectively may face an uncertain outcome.

This course will look at current areas of regulatory focus and explore hot topics such as PRA/FCA expectations in managing operational resilience, TPRM and consumer duty, including the challenges of a more integrated approach between the concept of intolerable harm for resilience (PRA) and foreseeable harm for consumer duty (FCA).

Aimed at:
This online workshop, split over two half-day sessions, is especially helpful for those who have not yet experienced a regulatory visit or have a critical visit approaching and wish to hone their skills.  It will help you know what to expect from such a visit, how to prepare effectively and how to have a positive effect on the outcome.  You will also be able to pass on your knowledge to others in your society.

The course uses a realistic case study of a visit to give you practice through the different stages of the visit process, including the actual interview, and will provide hints, tips and feedback throughout.

Areas to be covered include:

  • The supervisory approach of the PRA and FCA
  • Preparing for visits and meetings - from the announcement to the day itself
  • Regulatory meeting technique
  • Regulatory areas of focus and hot topics
  • Senior managers’ regime meetings and interviews
  • Thematic visits and meetings
  • Operational resilience

Operational resilience is a priority area for regulators. We will provide insights and hints and tips on answering their questions.

Due to the nature of the training places on this course will be limited.
