About Us 

The Building Societies Association (BSA) champions, represents and supports mutual lenders and deposit takers across the UK, specifically all 42 building societies and a number of larger credit unions.  It is highly respected for its representational advocacy to external bodies such as government departments and financial services regulators.  As well as proactively campaigning on behalf of the sector, the BSA works closely with the sector to represent its interests through consultation papers and provides information and advisory services to its Members and Associates.   

In addition to the BSA’s 49 Members (building societies and credit unions) it has approximately 48 Associates (organisations which have an interest in the sector).  The BSA is an unincorporated not-for-profit organisation. 

The BSA currently has 25 staff in the areas of policy/representational lobbying, economics and research, external affairs, member communications, commercial activities and corporate services. 

 

About the Role  

We are looking for a proactive and forward thinking Digital, Data and Technology Manager to lead and coordinate the delivery of our DDaT strategy. You will ensure our digital services, data capabilities and technology — including AI infrastructure and tools — robustly support our organisational objectives and continuous improvement efforts.  

This is a delivery focused role overseeing digital operations, project management, supplier performance and the implementation of innovative technology across the organisation. You’ll also play a key role in embedding AI adoption at scale to drive productivity and efficiency.  
 
About You:   

 

  • Proven experience delivering digital and technology transformation aligned to strategic goals.  
  • Strong project management and multi workstream coordination.  
  • Excellent communication and influencing skills.  
  • Practical understanding of cyber security, data protection, governance and business continuity.  
  • Supplier and contract management expertise.  
  • Competence with Microsoft 365, CRM/CMS platforms and a good understanding of AI capabilities.  
  • Understanding of standards such as ITIL, PRINCE and SFIA.  

Experience: 

 

  • Experience in a trade association, professional body or social purpose environment is ideal.  
  • Strong experience in digital, data and technology project management.  
  • Experience managing procurement, supplier performance and contract renewals.  
  • A proactive, can do mindset suited to evolving environments.

The starting salary will depend on the successful candidate’s experience.
