The Building Societies Association is the voice of the UK's building societies.
In a new communications partnership, the BSA and ITN Productions are producing a news and current affairs-style programme exploring how building societies help people achieve their financial goals.
In a new communications partnership, the BSA and ITN Productions are producing a news and current affairs-style programme exploring how building societies help individuals and families achieve their financial goals.
‘For people, not shareholders’ will bring to life how building societies use both conventional and innovative methods, including digital, to help people save for, buy or build their own homes. We are living in times that present challenges to young and old alike in saving for their future, whether it’s for a home deposit, an event or day-to-day life. The programme aims to highlight how building societies and their associates are offering solutions to these challenges.
Overview:
As the BSA celebrates 150 years, this programme will demonstrate the social purpose of building societies, showcase the way they behave and do business and highlight the moving image of a sector that’s a part of UK society, past, present and future.
Drawing upon ITN’s 60-year heritage and expertise in storytelling, the news-style piece will be anchored by Natasha Kaplinsky to combine key interviews and reports with sponsored editorial profiles from leading organisations.
Premiered at the BSA Annual Conference on the 23-24 May in London, the programme will form part of an extensive communications campaign featuring BSA members, industry partners, government partners, as well as relevant journalists, writers and bloggers.
Robin Fieth, Chief Executive, BSA said: “Taking up the opportunity to work with an entity as renowned as ITN Productions was an easy decision. It is the perfect partnership to promote the building society sector and all that it does. As well as conventional offerings, building societies regularly serve the underserved when it comes to both savings and mortgages. We look forward to working with ITN Productions, partners who can tell our story in such a compelling way.”
Vicki Clubley, Head of Industry News, ITN Productions, said: “We’re delighted to be partnering with the Building Societies Association to produce a programme exploring building societies and how they help borrowers and savers of all ages. We want to bring to life the role of building societies and change misunderstood perceptions.”
