The 2025 Annual Mortgage Meet-up will be taking place in London on Thursday 25th September.

Exploring some of the biggest issues shaping the future of our industry. From the evolving role of mortgage advice and intermediaries to the rise of AI, support for first-time buyers, property risk, and decarbonisation, this year’s sessions promise fresh insights and lively debate.

The day kicks off with a session navigating the regulatory revolution. You’ll also hear the latest policy and regulatory developments, including reflections from the FCA on their recent discussion paper.

Expect expert panels, fireside chats, and plenty of opportunities to get involved, ask questions, share your views, and learn from a wide range of fantastic speakers.

We’ll round off the day with informal networking drinks, the perfect chance to reconnect with colleagues and exchange ideas in a relaxed setting.

10:05	The regulatory revolution, keeping pace with a changing landscape Sajedah Karim, Partner, PwC There is an incredible amount of regulatory change on the horizon to support the Government’s growth agenda. This session will set the scene for the day and help firms to navigate this regulatory revolution and be prepared for future opportunities.
10:50	The Mortgage Rule Review and the Regulatory Agenda Thomas Francis, Mortgage Policy Manager, FCA Hear from the FCA hot on the heels of the deadline for the Mortgage Rule Review Discussion Paper. Thomas will share key insights from the recent discussion paper, the implementation of Policy Statement 25/11 and what to expect next from the FCA Strategy. There will also be an opportunity for Q&A.

11:45	The changing needs of first-time buyers, is homeownership a dream for many? Neal Hudson, Market Analyst & Commentator, ResiAnalysts Explore how shifting economic conditions, housing supply challenges, and evolving buyer priorities are reshaping the journey to homeownership for first-time buyers. This session, led by Neal Hudson will unpack the data behind changing demand and ask whether owning a home is still an attainable goal for many.
12:30	The retrofit challenge - supporting homeowners to save money and reduce energy use Annie Heaton, Group Sustainable Homes Senior Lead, Skipton Building Society Michelle Robinson, Head of Business Development, Snugg This session will explore the journey to decarbonising homes including existing challenges and what lessons we are learning along the way. We will hear the challenges one building society experienced in undertaking a full home retrofit and what they learned along the way.

14:10	The future of mortgage advice, the human touch and will AI support brokers and lenders? Kate Davies, Executive Director, The Intermediary Mortgage Lenders Association (IMLA) Francesco Di Pietro, Head of Intermediary Mortgages, Newcastle Building Society Jamie Lawless, Co-Founder & CEO, LendWell What is the future of mortgage advice? Join a lively panel discussion on the future of mortgage advice and the evolving role of intermediaries. The session will consider the impact of the FCA decision to remove the advice trigger and whether AI will replace or support mortgage brokers.
15:10	Property risk: insights and emerging challenges Julian Wells, Senior Risk Manager, Nationwide Epi Pearce, Risk Manager (Property Risk), Nationwide Laura Magezi, Mortgage Policy Manager, BSA This session will explore key emerging challenges within the property landscape and their impact on lending decisions and long-term asset values. Attendees will gain insight into how these factors influence risk assessments and portfolio resilience in an increasingly complex market.
