Exclusively created for the Mutual Sector and facilitated by Glory Global Solutions, this free to attend event taking place on Wednesday 22nd January 2025, will bring together Building Societies and Credit Unions from across the UK and Ireland for a day focused on a theme of ‘tradition meets transformation’.


As Building Societies celebrate their 250th year in 2025, as Building Societies celebrate their 250th year in 2025, we shine a light on the Mutual Sector. The day will involve presentations and discussions from Societies, Credit Unions, and Technology providers who are working closely with both, to deliver innovation, improved operating models, and the branch ready for tomorrow. 

Speakers include:

  • Iain Kirkpatrick, CEO of Market Harborough Building Society, will be discussing The Thrive Agenda and how it’s helping the Market Harborough community.
  • Robin Fieth, CEO of the BSA will be presenting 'Our History as Inspiration for Our Future'.
  • Gareth Evans, Director of The Financial Inclusion Centre will be discussing how to harness innovation to increase financial inclusion.
  • Jonny Pryn, Co-Founder of technology company Ask Silver will be discussing digital risk and presenting a tool to prevent your members from digital scams.
  • Josh Rix and Ben Nadel, Co-Founders of Woodhurst will be discussing their work and how technology can and is driving transformation in Building Societies.
  • 2 panels featuring Senior Executives from across the Mutual sector and Innovators in delivering technology solutions. Panelists from across the sectors will be discussing Technology & Digital Developments and where this is positively taking us.
  • Simon Taylor, CEO of Melton Building Society will be presenting on Transforming Tradition - Building on Local Roots and creating a Digital Future.

And further great speakers from the mutual and technology sectors.


The event will take place at Market Harborough Building Society's new head office: 16 The Point, Rockingham Road, LE16 7QU

The day starts with a warm welcome from Market Harborough Building Society CEO Iain Kirkpatrick - with an introduction to the day from The Building Societies Association (BSA) CEO Robin Fieth. 

As well as Technology presentations including industry experts Woodhurst and Unblu, there will be panel discussions with Mutual leaders inc’, Benedicte Frew - Chief of Staff, Skipton Building Society, Andrew Gall - Head of Savings & Economics, BSA and for this year, leaders and representatives of our Credit Unions.

This event will be focused on the great opportunity that exists, as the mutual sector grows its networks to represent more than 50% of banking available on our High Streets.
