This full-day event in Leeds provides BSA members with expert briefings on current key risk areas in financial crime to help them review and focus their own organisations' policy and practice.

We have an excellent line up of speakers covering a broad range of financial crime prevention topics, including:

  • Fiona Raistrick, Tracey Kenworthy & Vladimir Ivanov from BDO LLP on Fraud Risk Management and Anti-Money Laundering and whether an integrated approach is the way forward.
  • Richard Clarke from the National Trading Standards Scams Team on the identification of vulnerable consumers and what can be done for them. Plus an insight into the alert schemes they have developed within the financial services industry, telecoms and serviced offices to disrupt mass marketing scams which harms millions of consumers annually and puts pressure on financial institutions.
  • Eleanor Page from Pay.UK covering their work in fraud and Pay.UK’s strategy in supporting the whole market to improve fraud prevention and detection, as well as providing an update on APP fraud reimbursement.
  • Dr Nicola Harding from We Fight Fraud talking about the valuable work they do, including recent financial crime trends with relevant story-based examples.
  • Harriet Territt of Addleshaw Goddard LLP on facing the FCA's fincrime enforcement priorities for the next 12 months.
  • Beth Dale from the National Crime Agency will update on current crime trends and lead an interactive session on  SARs.

Attendees will have plenty of opportunity to put questions to the speakers during the day.

The event will also be an excellent opportunity for attendees to network with fellow MLROs and financial crime prevention professionals across the building society and credit union sector.
