David Bailey Executive Director for Prudential Policy at Bank of England gives an overview of the proposed capital regime for smaller, domestically focused, building societies (and banks) as part of the PRA's Strong & Simple framework. A copy of the speech can be found here and viewed below.

These proposals  will complete the Strong and Simple regime for smaller, domestically focused, building societies (and banks) and build on the publication of previous simplifications to liquidity and disclosure requirements in November 2023 which are already in force.  David will focus on Strong and Simple, and how it fits into the package which will be published on 12 September,  which includes Basel 3.1.
