MoneyHelper is an independent service, set up by government to help people make the most of their money. They give free, unbiased money advice to anyone in the UK which is delivered online, over the phone and face to face.

The service is paid for by a levy on the financial services industry, which is collected by the Financial Conduct Authority. The Money Advice Service has a number of statutory objectives.  These are:

  • To enhance the understanding and knowledge of members of the public about financial matters (including the UK financial system), and
  • To enhance the ability of members of the public to manage their own financial affairs.
